This is a great time to be a pain specialist. Technological advances in medicine are giving patients and physicians new and improved treatment options that were unavailable a few years ago. What was once considered the inevitable pain associated with the normal wear and tear of the aging process, is no longer the acceptable option.

People do not have to accept that pain can limit their activities and they have to give up doing things that they love. This has led them to start a conversation with their Family Physicians, their friends and neighbors. For many people this is the first time they will possibly learn that there are Doctors who specialize in the diagnosis and management of pain. For many this alone is a cause for hope.
