Meet Dr. Gabriel

Dr. Gabriel is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, is Fellowship trained with subspecialty certification in Pain Management. He completed his residency in anesthesiology and his fellowship in pain management at Penn State, Hershey, P.A. He has served as the medical director of Beaufort Memorial Hospital Pain Clinic in Beaufort, SC. He has been in private practice in San Antonio since 2006.

Dr. Gabriel is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, The American Medical Association, The Texas Medical Association and Bexar County Medical Society. Dr. Gabriel is deeply committed to educating fellow colleagues, his patients and the general public at large about chronic pain and its treatment.

He lectures frequently on the subject and has also been on the health and wellness segment of the local news discussing the cutting edge treatment options for chronic pain.

Dr. Gabriel believes that the patient-physician relationship is based on trust and mutual respect. He believes in the holistic concept that not only the condition needs to be addressed, but the whole human being needs to be looked at and treated.

Meet Dr. Souza

Dr. Sergio Souza, M.D is a fellowship-trained interventional pain medicine physician. He is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management.

He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. He attended medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and completed one year of additional graduate medical education at New York Medical College.

Dr. Souza then completed an internal medicine internship in California at Loma Linda University Medical Center, an anesthesiology residency at Louisiana State University, and an interventional pain management fellowship at the Ohio State University. Prior to joining Alamo Pain Center, he served as clinical assistant professor and worked at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Spine Center.

Dr. Souza is proficient in a wide array of pain treatment modalities, ranging from basic therapies to advanced minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Souza believes it is important that his patients understand their options in managing pain and he is committed to improving people's lives through personalized care.

He is a member of the International Society for Spine Interventions. Dr. Souza's interests outside of clinical care include traveling, golfing, and spending time with his family. Dr. Souza is also fluent in Spanish.
